Legend of Hockey John Brophy Dies at 83

John Brophy passed away at the age of 83.  John was an old school guy, Cape Breton tough, who grew up playing hockey when the game was violent.  He was a hard nosed in your face competitor that wouldn’t back down from anything or anybody. As of 2006, John Brophy is the all-time leader of ECHL coaches in regular season wins (480), play-offs games (94), play-off wins (55), and was inducted into the ECHL Hall of Fame in 2009.  John Brophy should not be forgotten in the world of hockey because he did it his way and was an honest player and coach.
