Gap Control A Pressure Tactic

In our blog post today we post an article that explains the importance of teaching and coaching the proper defensive gap distances to play in defending the Neutral Zone (NZ). The link to our document:playing-with-pressure-gap-control

The video clip below is of a goal scored by Gallagher against the Sabres which was the result of the D pairing not defending their blue line with a one stick length gap. We see all too often at the NHL level teams not defending their blue line and entrance into the offensive zone. The video is shared to show what happens when the D pairing backs up and allows a scorer time and space to shoot in the offensive zone in middle ice.
