Mike attended Eastern Canada Hockey School in Hull Quebec operated by the late Ross Tyrell for two weeks every summer from the ages of 8-14. The school provided coaching from some of the Ottawa Valley’s best hockey players; the likes of Jean and Denis Potvin, Eddie Hatoum, Bill Collins, Claude Larose, Leo Boivin and many others. He was lucky to play for some excellent coaches during his minor hockey years.  He was recruited to play University hockey in both Canada and the USA.  He played Jr A for the Gloucester Rangers.

Now retired after 35 years of public service he has created the TLPF website to support the development of competitive minor hockey players. Mike works with competitive hockey players to help them learn how to play faster which requires tactical knowledge and skills.

Mike has over 25 years of coaching experience as a Mentor Coach of people in Business and Sports.
